This is a different real estate finance role in Birmingham. What makes it different I hear you say. Well culturally its a lovely team in which to work. They are led by high quality partners with excellent clients and relationships and in terms of property finance work this is very 'property focused'.
The role will involve helping a range of institutional client looking to fund large scale, often mixed use development projects. Working for developers and challenger banks offers that change from working for institutional lenders. Its varied, fast paced and involves delivering quality advice while developing client relationships.
Fundamentally it is still a fee earning role that will require you to turn up to the office, record your hours and produce quality of work. So, at its most basic, it is no different.
The difference lies more in the manner in which the firm has established itself and continues to invest and grow. Indeed, it is this that gives rise to the fairly unique proposition offering excellent access to high quality clients and a culture and atmosphere where career development is encouraged at all levels.
What is required? First and foremost you need to be a real estate or specifically a real estate finance lawyer - now that may be broad banking rather than real estate focused. Provided you have the right desire and attitude towards real estate finance work then general banking experience is fine. The firm can consider those from a real estate background who have a genuine desire to be involved on the finance side.
