Litigation & Restructuring Solicitor

Location: Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire
Experience: 2-4 Years, 5-7 Years
Specialism: Commercial Litigation, Insolvency/Restructuring
Date Posted: January 05, 2021
Job ID: 2054
Employment Type: Permanent
Litigation - Insolvency and Commercial

How best to describe the firm? In terms of disciplines, it has a sharp focus on working with businesses - the breadth of clients is huge from large multinationals to smaller owner managing businesses. Irrespective of client size the firm has centred its service on being open, transparent, honest and deeply commercial. It is that approach that has allowed them to develop such a varied clientele.

In terms of geography? The firm originates in Manchester City Centre but in response to both its people and clients has evolved into Liverpool and farther afield into Lancashire - in the modern world they have embraced agility and, within sensible reason, geography is no barrier. That being said, they have developed strong relationships throughout the North West and that in turn has come from their lawyers having firm ties and links to the area.

As to their people - they have proven to be supportive and forward thinking. In-keeping with their commercial approach, they have looked to promote personal initiative allowing their teams to flourish and feel that they have a genuine influence on their career progression and development.

The role itself is for a mid-level lawyer, in terms of experience. It has a hybrid element as regards the caseload encapsulating both high quality general commercial litigation as well as contentious insolvency work (whether acting for IPs or directors in misfeasance or TUV/Preference work).

Ideally the firm view the right person as having between 2-6 years PQE with perhaps a leaning towards the higher end on the basis that they will be providing key support to two partners and sit in between them and more junior lawyers -as such a degree of ability is expected such that the need to supervise is more limited (but not absent).

The big sell in terms of the firm is the scope to be part of a growing practice that continues to afford great freedom to its people and an opportunity to be invested in and support its alongside an individuals personal growth.

If you are a litigator whether with direct commercial litigation or insolvency litigation experience (of a mixture of both) then we would be interest to hear from you.
