Given the current climate the number of options available to corporate solicitors across the country are showing no signs of slow down. As teams across the board remain busy, why move? More money? More responsibility? Less grief? Less time spent working with difficult people?
Of the four listed, I would certainly say that they should all be achievable. In terms of less grief, given the partner you would work for the answer is definitely yes but it remains that the firm is a large international practice and so one can't escape the inevitable time recording etc. Though even then, as much of the work is party of a larger agreed transaction fee, the pressure is less palpable and used more as a measure of productivity than a financial stick to beat you with.
The firm can offer market leading salaries and quality of work rarely seen outside of London on a range of M&A (both general and real estate driven and Public, AIM and Listing work that will be all over the market reports.
Couple that with a friendly, down to earth boss and international profiled firm and you have the perfect storm of a role that will prove to be your making - if that is what you want.
The team is demanding in terms of technical excellence but the rewards will be there.
Given the current structure of the team in Manchester you will find you have a clear route forward and will be fully supported in moving to the next level in your career. In terms of level, you will have upwards of 1 year PQE. The reason for that is to be able to allow for growth of a recently qualified lawyer. It isn't to rule out exceptional NQ candidates but it will be a factor.
It is hard to capture in print quite what a unique opportunity this is and so we would encourage anyone who is a technically proficient corporate solicitor to get in touch for a confidential discussion. The firm has had great success in re-locators from London who have found little compromise in the quality of work.
