In House Commercial Lawyer

Our client is a large listed company with a significant breadth and portfolio of work.

Its legal team is in its infancy but has already integrated substantial with the businesses core activities.

The size of the team means that the legal function is still evolving which is both a positive and negative. On the positive side there is significant scope for the role to expand and the work is consequently varied and challenging. On the downside, it means that the processes for delivery are ever changing. All that requires is an adaptive and positive mindset as well as strong cultural fit.

Indeed cultural fit is critical. The head of legal embodies the team approach to things. They are open, honest and roll their sleeves up to get the job done. Attitude is just as important as aptitude.

In terms of the work, it truly is a range from general commercial agreements such as outsourcing, supply, concession agreements as well as wider procurement and regulatory element to compliment other service lines in the business to general real estate on the leasing side in the main. A true general counsel role.

They are looking for a junior lawyer whether an NQ or 1 year PQE lawyer. In an unusual approach they are open to lawyers from a range of disciplines (not just commercial contracts) though the ideal will be to see at good range of exposure within your training contract where you may have hit on a number of commercial orientated disciplines.

The role is based in South Liverpool but geography and expectation are all things we can speak out.

If you are interested in making a move into an in house role that offers great depth of commercial exposure and have the right commercial background then we are interested in speaking to you.
