Let's start with the basics. Work/life balance. Can it be achieved? Well, our client likes to think so. Perhaps it comes from their origins but the firm is a strong believer in its people not having to sell their soul to the profession. In part, it is what makes them a very friendly and collegiate place to work.
Work quality. The assumption is that with work/life balance comes compromise on work quality. Again, this firm doesn't feel the same way. In the context of their family law team, their work is a mix of private and publicly funded work but remains of a good quality.
Financial - the firm operates across a number of office throughout the North West. If you are in the main cities expecting the above work.life balance, quality and market busting salary then this probably isn't for you. Competitive salary for the region - well, now that is something they can do.
What they are looking for is either good training in a broad spectrum of family work or direct post qualification experience. What does that mean? Well anywhere from NQ to 3 years qualified.
Some experience of both publicly and private funded work would be advantageous but good technical experience in either and a willingness to develop across that split is just as good.
