Planning/Environment Solicitor - Manchester

A planning/environment solicitor is offered an excellent opportunity to join a Legal 500 Partner building a planning and environmental team in Manchester.

The firm ranks as one of the top 25 in the UK with 15 offices throughout the country. The planning team in Manchester forms part of a national planning practice working alongside their colleagues in real estate and environmental on major projects nationally.

This market leading planning team work with clients across a range of sectors including education, retail, residential development, infrastructure and healthcare. The successful planning/environment solicitor joining this team will ideally have experience of undertaking the following:

- due diligence and advice on environmental issues in relation to real estate and corporate transactions;

- Drafting documentation arising from such issues;

- environmental litigation;

- planning application and appeals;

- drafting and negotiating planning and other infrastructure agreements;

- enforcement appeals;

- judicial review and high court appeals;

- listed buildings and conservation areas;

- environmental issues including environmental impact assessments;- project management;

- listed buildings and conservation areas;


- planning enquiries and formal hearings

This position is ideally suited to planning/environmental solicitors between one and five years PQE. Candidates applying for this opportunity should be able to display:

- A strong academic background.
- Training and experience in planning/environmental law gained with a reputable national practice.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Experience in client relationship management.
