In-House Litigation Counsel

Location: Manchester, Cheshire
Experience: 2-4 Years, 5-7 Years
Specialism: Real Estate Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Commercial/IP, In-House
Date Posted: April 21, 2021
Job ID: 2272
Employment Type: Permanent
A property company based in Manchester and Cheshire is seeking its first in-house solicitor for a mainly litigation based opportunity. The successful candidate is likely to have at least 3 years' PQE and have a decent grounding in residential property litigation work.

The work that this company does is varied and includes a nationwide property portfolio of residential and student accommodation. They use external lawyers, and will continue to do so, but the new in-house counsel will take care of these relationships and build their own templates and procedures for the company to follow.

Alongside disputes work, which is very often dealt with before proceeding to trial, this role will also incorporate the other types of work that you expect to see in-house, such as commercial contracts and compliance matters.

Person-wise, the company would love to find somebody that they can build a great trusted relationship with, and would like to see somebody bring confidence and maturity to this newly created role. You will report directly to the MD, and be given loads of responsibility and freedom to create a role that suits you. They describe themselves as an approachable and social bunch, with lots of activities and away days in more regular times, which they would like to get back to!

The position will pay up to circa £50,000 although there may be a bit of upwards stretch for the right person. Basically don't let this prevent you from making an application! The company is modern and open-minded on a balance of office and home working as long as you are just as adaptable and accept that there is some give and take with this.

Please contact Adam Zdravkovic at Think Legal for a confidential discussion about this role and to have sight of a job specification.
