Specialism: Residential Conveyancing

Job ID: 2359
Employment Type: Permanent
Persimmon Homes is proud to be one of the UK's most successful house builders and is headquartered in York, where its in-house legal residential property team has a newly created opportunity for an Assistant Company Solicitor.

This role will support the Company Solicitor based from the York office, and Group Solicitor in conducting legal work and helping to manage the York based in-house legal team.

The conveyancing / property work will be good quality - the intention is for this role to focus on the likes of affordable housing contracts, option agreements, section 106 agreements and other more technical aspects of transactions that form part of a new-build residential property caseload.

The team is busy, and you will deputise for the Company Solicitor when required as well as assist with operational matters like building precedents and advice notes, delivering training, developing and monitoring the case management system, conducting appraisals and attending meetings.

Alongside your basic salary there is a good benefits package, including a strong pension scheme and private health, as well as discretionary bonus.

The team is not too prescriptive when it comes to level of PQE for this role - it will depend on the individual and experience gained - you will need to have enough experience to have confidence in your ability to do the work and help to manage others. So it could be suitable for an experienced qualified Legal Executive, or a NQ Solicitor with lots of pre-qualification experience, as well as those with more PQE as a Solicitor.

Ideally you will be based in York however the team will also consider candidates in the North East and potentially nearer to Doncaster too, as they have some busy offices in these locations - and a mix of home and office work is welcomed if preferred. So please get in touch if you feel that your experience could be right and you'd like to view a job specification.
