Construction Senior Associate - Non-Contentious

We are acting on behalf of a leading international firm in a rare opportunity (rare in the sense of the huge potential for progression) for a non-contentious construction solicitor in Leeds. In fairness the opportunity arises across two distinct fields so there is a good deal of choice to appeal to your wider needs.

Not only is the calibre of work fantastic and providing exposure to a broad range of national and international work but also the current structure of the team provides scope for an experienced non-contentious construction or projecrts solicitor to take a key role in Leeds with an unencumbered route towards partnership.

The first role sits more in line with a traditional construction (as built) role and carries a need for construction specific related experience - most likely someone with upwards of 3 years technical transactional construction. I say 3 years on the basis that the role will involve providing some oversight and supervision to junior lawyers so it is important that you have the grounding to be able to do so.

The second role leans more towards a projects specific across the renewables, nuclear and transport sectors where the key facet will be strong academic capability and the application of black letter law. As such the team is open to considering those coming from a transactional disciplines such as banking, restructuring, corporate or commercial (admittedly you will have to have keen desire to transition into a construction/projects role).

This latter role supports a leading partner and is expansionary in nature but as it will be client facing a certain level of gravitas is required so it is anticipated that you would need to be upwards of 5 years PQE. Whilst certain aspects of practice may not yet be in your skill set, the broader projects and engineering side are areas that the partner will invest in bringing you up to speed.

This is a great opportunity in a leading construction team that could cement your route forward to partnership.

If you are a construction senior solicitor or associate or transactional lawyer whether in house or private practice considering a move in Leeds, this warrants a look. Please contact Paul Warburton for a confidential discussion or send your CV to
