A well-respected regional law firm with a strong name in the market is continuing to grow, and is looking to add a Family Solicitor to its team.

This is a busy and varied private family role, working with a good mix of clients across divorce and separation, financial matters and privately funded children work.

The firm has a genuinely supportive culture and is known for looking after its people. It has continued to grow both in size and financially, but has retained a strong team ethos and a sensible approach to work/life balance.

The role

You’ll be handling your own caseload while also working alongside experienced colleagues, with responsibility for matters from initial instruction through to conclusion.

The work will include:

• Divorce and separation
• Financial matters arising from relationship breakdown
• Private children matters
• Taking instructions and advising clients
• Preparing correspondence, pleadings and other file documentation
• Instructing counsel and experts where appropriate
• Representing clients at Court, including advocacy where appropriate
• Managing costs, billing and obtaining monies
• Dealing with new client enquiries

Who are they looking for?

Ideally, you’ll have 5+ years’ experience in private family work and be comfortable dealing with your own caseload and clients.

That said, the firm is open-minded on PQE and would welcome applications from candidates at all qualification levels if they have the right experience and approach.

You’ll need to be organised, commercially aware and confident dealing directly with clients. Just as importantly, you’ll need to be someone who works well as part of a team and wants to be part of a supportive environment rather than simply having a job to do.

The firm is looking for someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with good client care and the ability to explain often complicated family law issues clearly and sensibly.

Salary will be dependent on experience and skills.
