Associate & Senior Associate - Public Sector Real Estate

About the Role
This global law firm is seeking talented Associate and Senior Associate level lawyers to join its award-winning UK National Public Sector Real Estate Team in either Newcastle or Leeds.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside nationally recognised leaders on some of the UK's most significant development and regeneration projects, advising key public sector clients on complex, high-value transactions.
The Work
You will be working on large-scale development and regeneration projects including:
  • Capital projects and strategic development schemes
  • Forward funding and income strip deals
  • CPO land acquisition strategies
  • Multi-phased residential and mixed-use developments
  • Infrastructure and connectivity improvement schemes
The team advises an impressive roster of clients including Homes England, multiple London boroughs, local authorities across England and Wales, and central government departments.
Recent Highlights
The team has been involved in truly transformative projects:
  • A 200-acre multi-phased development delivering 3,000 new homes, education establishments and £102m infrastructure investment
  • A £1 billion GDV Strategic Sites project for a Welsh local authority
  • A £100m forward funded residential scheme delivering 500 units at a major waterfront regeneration site
  • Strategic regeneration programmes supporting urban renewal and economic growth
  • Transport-led connectivity schemes supporting city centre regeneration
About You
Essential:
  • Qualified solicitor (or due to qualify shortly for Associate level)
  • Experience in real estate, development, or regeneration work
  • Strong technical ability and commercial awareness
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Genuine interest in public sector work and social impact
Desirable:
  • Experience advising public sector clients
  • Knowledge of development agreements, regeneration structures, or CPO processes
  • Experience on multi-party, complex transactions
