Real Estate Associate - Manchester (with flexibility)

Our client, an established commercial law firm, is seeking an Associate to join its growing Real Estate team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-quality, complex development matters within a collaborative and values-led environment.

The Role

You will work as part of a well-regarded real estate practice advising a diverse client base across the public, private and third sectors, including developers, landowners, housing associations, local authorities and government bodies. The team is involved in major development and regeneration projects, land disposals, and renewable energy work nationwide.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of property development transactions, with support and mentoring from senior lawyers recognised in leading legal directories.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on a wide range of property development matters, delivering clear, commercially focused advice

  • Supporting senior team members on complex transactions and projects

  • Managing matters efficiently to meet agreed time and fee targets

  • Undertaking legal research and contributing to technical excellence

  • Actively participating in business development, marketing and networking initiatives

  • Using modern legal technology and case management systems effectively

About You

This role would suit a motivated and commercially minded real estate lawyer who enjoys working as part of a team and is keen to continue developing their career.

You are likely to have:

  • Strong drafting skills and the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely

  • A proactive, organised approach with good attention to detail

  • Experience of, or strong interest in, property development work

  • Confidence building relationships with clients and colleagues

  • A willingness to get involved in business development activities

  • Good IT skills and openness to using legal tech and AI tools

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment

Experience acting for landowners and/or developers in either the public or private sector would be advantageous.

What’s on Offer

  • High-quality, varied work across multiple client types and sectors

  • Supportive team culture with genuine investment in learning and development

  • Flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on wellbeing

  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Associate looking to build long-term expertise in property development within a progressive and people-focused firm.
