The opportunity

Our client is looking to recruit at Solicitor, Associate or Senior Associate level to support the continued growth of the team. They are deliberately open on PQE and experience, and are keen to hear from a range of candidates, including:

• Experienced insolvency and restructuring solicitors looking for a new platform
• Corporate lawyers with an interest in developing a restructuring practice
• Commercial litigators who want to retrain into contentious insolvency

The work

You will work across a broad and varied caseload spanning three main areas. On the advisory side, you will advise financially distressed businesses and individuals on restructuring options, guide directors on their duties and personal liabilities, and support creditor negotiations. On the non-contentious insolvency side, you will work closely with corporate, commercial property and employment colleagues to advise insolvency practitioners and stakeholders on asset disposals and acquisitions, pre-packaged sales, TUPE and redundancy issues, and appointment-related documentation. On the contentious side, the team handles a wide range of insolvency litigation including claims against directors for antecedent transactions, asset recovery, freezing orders, winding-up and bankruptcy petitions, and director disqualification proceedings.

What we're looking for

• A qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with a background in commercial litigation, corporate law or insolvency
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• The ability to manage a caseload independently and as part of a close-knit team
• Commercial awareness and a genuine client-focused approach
• Adaptability and a proactive attitude — this is a fast-moving area
• Experience in insolvency disputes, restructuring or financial distress advisory is a plus, as is exposure to ADR or business development activity
