Intellectual Property – Senior Associate

A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm is looking for an experienced IP lawyer to join their growing team in Manchester.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys handling a broad range of IP disputes, including trade marks, passing off, copyright and design matters. You’ll work closely with two supportive partners and a talented group of associates, with regular exposure to high-quality work from well-known clients in sectors such as sport, fashion and consumer brands.

They’re seeking someone who communicates well, has excellent attention to detail and enjoys finding practical solutions for busy clients. The role:

Managing and advising on a wide range of IP disputes and litigation, including:
- Trade marks & passing off
- Copyright
- Design rights
- (Desirable) Patents
Taking ownership of matters within a busy and varied caseload
Supervising and supporting junior members of the team
Getting involved in business development and marketing initiatives

The candidate:

An Associate/Senior Associate with at least 5 years’ experience in IP, ideally within a fast-paced, client-focused setting
Strong technical expertise in IP law
A commercial, practical approach and strong client-facing skills
Enthusiasm for BD, marketing and building client relationships
A team player with genuine enthusiasm for supporting junior colleagues
