About the Opportunity
Our client, a prominent international law firm, is recruiting a Practice Innovation Lead to transform how their award-winning Disputes practice leverages technology and innovation. This is an exceptional opportunity for a disputes lawyer who's passionate about the intersection of litigation and legal technology.
The Disputes Group is a powerhouse practice handling domestic and international litigation, arbitration, alternative dispute resolution, regulatory investigations, and judicial review matters. Their expertise spans Fraud, Commercial Disputes, Global Investigations, Finance Disputes, Employment, Competition Disputes, International Arbitration, Litigation Finance, and Tech Disputes.
The Role
You'll be the driving force behind innovation adoption within the Disputes practice—working directly with litigators and dispute resolution specialists to identify opportunities, implement cutting-edge legal technology, and embed new ways of working that enhance case delivery and client outcomes.
This isn't a purely technical role; it's about understanding the unique challenges of disputes work and translating technology into practical solutions that litigators will actually use.
Your responsibilities will include:

Serving as the innovation liaison for the Disputes Group, building trusted relationships with lawyers to understand their workflow challenges
Identifying and implementing legal technology solutions specifically relevant to litigation and dispute resolution work
Developing and delivering targeted training programmes to drive technology adoption among disputes lawyers
Leading change management initiatives to embed new tools and processes into daily practice
Monitoring adoption metrics and providing ROI analysis on innovation investments
Collaborating with practice group leaders to align innovation strategy with business objectives
Representing the innovation team in disputes practice meetings

Essential Requirements

5+ years' experience in disputes, litigation, arbitration or related contentious practice areas
Strong enthusiasm for technology and innovation in the legal sector
Deep understanding of disputes workflows, from case inception through to resolution
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
Proactive problem-solver who can identify practical solutions to complex challenges
Outstanding communication skills with ability to make technology accessible to all levels

Highly Desirable

Hands-on experience with litigation technology tools (e-discovery, case management platforms, data analytics, etc.)
Project or change management experience
Track record in legal innovation or legal tech implementation
Experience driving technology adoption in professional services environments
