The headline note is the scope of the role - whilst the breadth of experience for prospective candidates is wider the role itself operates within the boundaries of Asset and Invoice Finance.

There is increasing popularity in this form of funding (especially given the high cost of borrowing currently) and there is a definite resurgence which is promoting growth within this team.

The firm itself has significant pedigree in this arena and few can offer the connections and experience they have.

The ambition is to recruit one or two people depending on experience. The scope could be anyone from NQ-3 years PQE.

The team also handle broader real estate finance but this role will have very much an ABL focus. As there are less firms that truly work in this space, it is understood that securing absolutely direct experience of asset finance will be harder however the firm is confident that broader banking (whether acquisition, leveraged or real estate finance experience) legal experience will translate.

The team is keen to promote itself and have an open dialogue about the role and expectations. They have retrained in the past as well as promoted internal from paralegals that have joined the team. These roles are at a more qualified level and so the requirement is for direct transactional experience within finance.
