Think Legal Recruitment is working with a well-established commercial law firm in Manchester that is looking to strengthen its residential property team with the appointment of an experienced conveyancer.

This opportunity will appeal to candidates who enjoy handling quality residential property work in a genuinely non-volume environment.

The team acts on a range of higher-value transactions and prides itself on delivering a high level of client service, rather than operating a target-driven, factory-style model.

The Role
You will manage your own caseload of residential property matters, dealing with a broad range of transactions including:

Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
Higher-value residential property transactions
Property investor work
Complex conveyancing matters requiring a more bespoke approach
Transactions generated through longstanding client relationships, referrals and commercial connections

Caseloads are intentionally kept at manageable levels, typically around 30-40 live matters, allowing fee earners to focus on quality, client care and technical delivery.

The team receives work from a variety of sources, including referrals from commercial clients and an associated London practice, creating a steady flow of interesting and often more complex instructions.

About You
The firm is ideally seeking a qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer or legal executive, although highly experienced non-qualified conveyancers with significant residential property experience will also be considered.

You will likely:

Have at least 2 years' experience handling your own residential conveyancing caseload (or equivalent experience)
Be confident managing transactions from instruction through to completion
Enjoy building relationships with clients and providing an excellent service
Be comfortable working with a degree of autonomy
Have experience of dealing with higher-value or more complex residential matters

The Team & Culture
The Manchester team is deliberately small, close-knit and collaborative, offering the opportunity to play a meaningful role within the department rather than becoming one of many conveyancers in a large volume operation.

Support is available through dedicated secretarial and post-completion resources, whilst fee earners are encouraged to take ownership of their matters and client relationships.

Hybrid Working
The firm offers genuine flexibility and hybrid working arrangements.

Following an initial settling-in period, the typical pattern is three days in the office and two from home.
