IP Associate - Manchester, Bristol, London
An IP lawyer is sought for the legal team of one of Europe's leading intellectual property firms.
This firms is one of the UK's largest firms of Chartered Patent Attorneys, European Patent Attorneys, European Trade Mark Attorneys and European Design Attorneys.
They now require a specialist U.K. Qualified solicitor to assist in the growth of their legal team which supports the Patent Attorney Arms of the business and allows them to deliver the full range of legal services to their impressive client base.
This is a firm which is forward thinking, diverse and modern place to work with exceptional science, technology and pharmaceutical related mandates from some of the largest players in the world.
Due to expansion they seek a qualified Solicitor at NQ level plus to work in any of their U.K. offices supporting the growth of their specialist legal team. Specific IP experience is not a pre-requisite though you must have litigation experience and ideally at STEM University and a keen interest in science.
More specifically this role has the following requirements as part of its job specification:
- Assisting in intellectual property dispute resolution, including in pre-action, UK and international legal proceedings, oppositions and settlements.
- Advising clients strategically and on points of law with respect to intellectual property rights.
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on contracts involving intellectual property, including licenses, assignments, collaborations, settlements, confidentiality agreements, and relevant commercial contracts.
- Advising on intellectual property related elements of corporate transactions, including conducting due diligence and drafting and negotiating related indemnities and warranties.
- Supporting patent and trademark prosecution at the Firm, in particular assistance in resolving issues of entitlement, addressing priority rights and assignments.
This is essentially a private practice role in IP but working within a team which has an "in house feel", the best quality work available and above market rate pay.
