Ideally 3–8 years PQE (but all levels considered)
A well-established, independently owned law firm with a proud 170-year heritage — built on deep agricultural roots and a strong track record advising owner-managed and family businesses across the region. With 50 staff across offices in Hull and York, they offer a genuinely collegiate environment where departments collaborate closely and everyone pulls together.
Their York office, opened in 2019, has grown steadily and become a hub for their expanding commercial offering. The firm's practice spans real estate, commercial, complex PI and private client — with significant crossover, particularly for their large agricultural client base.
The opportunity
This is a growth hire — there is plenty of work and the team is ready to expand. The real estate team operates as one across both offices, led by an Associate Director and supported by a Senior Associate, Associate, Solicitor and four paralegals.
The requirement is mid-level — someone at the 3–8 year PQE mark who can hit the ground running. That said, the firm is genuinely open on level and will consider strong candidates outside that range.
Anyone who brings their own network or client following will be particularly welcomed.
The work
The caseload is commercial and agricultural in nature. You can expect to work across:
