Real Estate Solicitor 3 years + PQE – Charity & Faith Sector

About the Firm

Our client is a well-established, full-service law firm based in the North East of England, serving clients across the UK and internationally. With a history spanning over 125 years, the firm has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality, partner-led legal advice combined with exceptional personal service.

The firm employs over 220 people, including 38 partners, 120 fee-earners and 60 business services professionals. Its client base is broad and varied, encompassing large corporates, owner-managed businesses, healthcare professionals, leisure operators and rural businesses. The firm is deeply committed to its local community and actively encourages staff involvement in community initiatives.

The Real Estate Team

The firm's Real Estate team is one of the largest in the region, comprising 7 partners supported by senior associates, associates, solicitors and paralegals. The team acts for a wide range of significant and sophisticated developers and investors and is now looking to strengthen its offering through a dedicated appointment to its charity and faith property practice.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Real Estate Solicitor to join a busy and well-regarded team, advising charities and faith-based organisations on a broad range of property matters. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload while also supporting colleagues across the wider team.

Work will include:

  • Acquisitions and disposals of charity property
  • General advisory work for charity trustees on property-related matters
  • Leases, including the grant of new leases and renewals
  • Development projects, including overage arrangements

The Candidate

The firm is seeking a solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE and a background in commercial property. Knowledge of charity law and/or ecclesiastical law is essential, while direct experience of charity property transactions would be advantageous, though not a prerequisite.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly organised and able to work accurately under pressure and within tight deadlines, often with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is a genuine commitment to delivering a high standard of client care.

What's on Offer

The firm offers a competitive salary, a discretionary bonus scheme, genuine career progression opportunities and a fully supported hybrid working model, along with a comprehensive employee benefits package.
