A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Infrastructure, Projects & Energy team in Leeds. The team is a market leader, trusted by major utilities, integrated energy companies, developers, funds, PE houses and financial institutions across a broad and exciting practice.

The role
You will advise across a diverse range of matters, including:
- Energy & renewables
- Project development, M&A, regulated energy and public procurement, with renewables and alternative energy at the heart of the practice.
- Transport
- Rolling stock procurement and modification, light and heavy rail franchising, in-life management, transfer schemes, franchise mobilisation and general commercial contracts across the wider transport sector.
- Social infrastructure
- PFI/PPP and broader public-private work across schools, hospitals, roads and other community assets, drawing on a strong tradition of advising public sector and private clients alike.
- At least 1 year PQE in Infrastructure, Projects & Energy or a Commercial Contracts background
- Familiarity with project development, M&A and public procurement in energy and infrastructure
- Awareness of PFI/PPP models and relevant legal and commercial structures for social infrastructure and transport projects
- Strong drafting, negotiation and contract interpretation skills
- Curiosity and commercial instinct — an ability to understand what truly matters to clients and deliver advice with quality and impact
