Contentious Probate Lawyer (Legal Director / Partner)

I’m working with a highly regarded, Legal 500 ranked commercial firm in Leeds that’s looking to bring in an experienced Contentious Probate Lawyer at Legal Director or Partner level.

This is a genuinely interesting opportunity for someone who enjoys high-quality work but also wants the autonomy to shape and grow a team.

The role:

• Running a varied contentious probate caseload, including:
• Proprietary estoppel claims
• Inheritance Act claims
• Disputes around validity and interpretation of wills
• Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
• Leading and developing a small but busy team:
• 1 experienced Solicitor
• 1 Apprentice Solicitor
• 1 Paralegal
• Working closely with strong commercial litigation and private client teams across the wider firm

• Well-established Legal 500 practice with a strong reputation in the Leeds market
• Small, close-knit team that’s growing year on year
• Low staff turnover and a genuinely supportive culture
• Commercial in outlook but very approachable
• A firm that consistently punches above its weight in terms of quality of work

About you:

• Around 7+ years’ PQE in contentious probate
• Comfortable handling complex disputes and supervising others
• Keen to step into a more senior, strategic role with real input into growth
