Persimmon Homes is proud to be one of the UK's most successful house builders and its in-house legal team has an opportunity for a Company Solicitor or Legal Executive to work on a full or part time (4 days) basis from their Exeter office. 

The type of experience that would be useful for a role like this in their Land/HA in-house legal team, which is separate from its highly successful residential conveyancing team, is undertaking property due diligence and reporting on title, advising on conditional contracts and option agreements, affordable housing sales, section 106 agreements, infrastructure agreements and site assembly. The work to be undertaken will be predominantly property focussed, specialising in affordable housing but also advising on general land matters, assisting with acquisition and disposal matters and include some planning work.

Candidates who have worked at law firms or in-house for house builders are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those currently working at housing associations who have seen development from the other side. Housing experience would be particularly useful for this role. You will need to be approachable but tenacious, and be able to bring some energy into a busy and fun workplace. 

This role will concentrate on this interesting area of work and not be expected to have managerial responsibility for others in the team, although the team works very closely together and some element of supervisory input would be appreciated.

The team is not too prescriptive when it comes to level of PQE for this role - it will depend on the individual and experience gained - you will need to have enough experience to have confidence in your ability to do the work and help to manage others. So it could be suitable for an experienced qualified Legal Executive, or a NQ Solicitor with lots of pre-qualification experience, as well as those with more PQE as a Solicitor.
