Court of Protection Solicitor/Associate

Our client, a highly respected regional law firm, is seeking a Solicitor or Associate to move into a key role in their Court of Protection team.  This is based in the Lancashire office, but with hybrid working options.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge and a passion for business development to make their mark, build a caseload, and contribute to the long-term strategy within a team with an excellent reputation.

The Role

You will:

  • Manage and grow a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications and managing property & affairs files (often linked to personal injury or clinical negligence settlements).

  • Play a key role in the development and implementation of the department’s growth strategy.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, referrers, and stakeholders to enhance the firm’s profile.

  • Take part in business development activities such as networking, presentations, training sessions, and contributions to articles or directories.

  • Support senior colleagues with departmental initiatives and collaborate across teams on joint matters.

  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and training to junior lawyers and paralegals.

  • Ensure compliance with SRA and internal quality standards.

  • Monitor and report on financial performance to help drive profitability and efficiency.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor (ideally with 4+ years’ PQE, although candidates with relevant experience will be considered).

  • Experience in Court of Protection work, with the confidence to handle a range of property and affairs matters.

  • A strong interest in business development and growing client relationships.

  • Commercially aware, with the ability to balance high-quality client service with departmental targets.

  • A collaborative team player with leadership skills, capable of mentoring others.

What’s on Offer

  • A supportive and forward-thinking environment, recognised nationally for its people-focused culture.

  • A platform to shape and grow a specialist service area.

  • Hybrid working options for improved work-life balance.

  • Genuine career progression opportunities within a thriving private client team.
